The Howard County Summer Theatre celebrates its 50th season, and Razzle Dazzle salutes Todd Hochkeppel, speaking frankly with his theater buddy, Mo Dutterer. The HeART of HoCo

Since its beginning in 1966, HCC has been home to many organizations, HoCoPolitso and the Columbia Film Society, among them. Just Dance

Tune in Razzle Dazzle for up-to-date info on the upcoming gala season of the performing arts here in Howard County. Carolyn Kelemen and Judy Templeton host Ann-Marie Gover and HCC’s Liz Higgins, both involved in dance activities at the college and beyond.
First up is the premiere Dance Festival at the Columbia Lakefront Saturday, Sept. 20 with workshops and performances. Also, note the 28th annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County Saturday, October 25, from 6-10 p.m. at the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center. It’s a season to celebrate!

Mid-Summer Merriment

Get ready for mid-summer merriment in Columbia as Razzle Dazzle Radio celebrates the first “Pride in July” fest at the Lakefront. Co-hosts Judy Templeton and Carolyn Kelemen interview CA’s Dannika Rynes with up-to-date information on the Pride event, and actress Tori Weaver talks about her role in the disco classic musical, “Saturday Night Fever” at Toby’s Dinner Theater. Fun galore!

Looking for some cool summer gigs in our area? Check out Razzle Dazzle Radio, with Carolyn Kelemen and Judy Templeton, for the best of summer theater, music and festivals. Actor/Producer Todd Hochkeppel shares information on the 2025 Howard County Summer Theatre’s production of “Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at Marriott’s Ridge High School June 21-28. Merriweather Arts and Culture Center’s Executive Director, Ian Kennedy, wows us with his extensive list of not-to-be-missed music events (most free) throughout the summer.

The Making of Theatre Artists

Meet Stephen Foreman and Celine Jones Cameron, “CJ” on the latest edition of Razzle Dazzle. These two artists are making their mark in the world of theatre. Stephen began his theatrical career at one month old playing Baby Jesus and now as Director of Silhouette Stages, “Suessical” with lots of creative work in between. CJ has grown from Drama student to Stage Manager and other important roles here at the college. Their stories will delight both young and old, especially future Stars…

"Be Inspired" is the theme on the latest edition of "Razzle Dazzle Radio" podcast," and feel good about new adventures this summer. Hosts Carolyn Kelemen and Judy Templeton share idea with guests Mark Beachy, described as "A man about town" who has a broad talent in theater. Gerald Johnson heads the Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts (CCTA) that offers opportunities for kids of all ages. Be prepared for a fantastic summer of music, dance, and acting.  

A Dazzling Spring Stage Spotlight

Put on your dance shoes for an exciting episode of "Razzle Dazzle Radio". Join us as we meet Liz Quinones, Artistic Director of Kinetics Dance Theatre, and Debbie Mobley, local actress starring in Sister Act at Ford's Theatre.
Liz will preview the upcoming Kinetics concert, "Dance upon a Time", and share insights into her choreography for the HCC Spring Dance Concert. Debbie will take us behind the scenes of local theatre, recounting her adventures both on and off stage, and revealing how she landed her role as Sister Mary Lazarus in Sister Act.Tune in to hear all the razzle dazzle these two creatives bring to our local stages and beyond!
